Hi, thank you for joining me for episode number 171. So for the past couple of weeks, we've been talking about the importance of mental health maintenance and what are the pros and cons of doing it or not doing it? And also just ways that we can process our emotions and how do you do that? And that's one of the steps in being able to maintain our mental health. And I talked about how we have kind of schedules for the maintenance we do on our house and the maintenance we do. On our cars and ourselves. Our, like our bodies and our teeth and things like that.

We have like the sick every six months or every year, or. I know there's something about. To remember to change the batteries in your smoke detector, you should do [00:01:00] it when. I think it's when the time changes maybe or something like that. To kind of help you remember, because it doesn't happen very often. So I decided to create a mental health maintenance schedule for you that is so done for you.

That it will be so easy for you to have this maintenance schedule. I'm also trying some new ways of recording. I'm going to try some new tricks. And the platforms that I use to just learn more things about how to do video recording and editing. And so I don't know if anything weird will happen in this one or like the end product will look weird, but I'm just letting you know ahead of time.

And Stop. I'm at the end of a cold. And so my voice may do weird things. I don't know. So, anyway, I wanted, I'm very excited about this mental health maintenance schedule that I created for you because it is, it does just have so many features to it. [00:02:00] And I created. I filmed a whole nother video on like how to use it.

So if you want to get the men mental health maintenance, Schedule that's. All written out for you and everything that you can use. And do, you can just go to my show notes or my. I think in the show notes. I don't know if I'll have it on my website, but go to my show notes. I will probably be posting how to do it. All my social media as well, but you'll just go in and download it.

It's going to be a Google sheets. Most people know how to use Google sheets or have access to use Google sheets. It's a free program. And you can download Google sheets onto your phone if you want to. And so then the maintenance schedule will be right on your phone for you to use so easily, but you can also use it on a desktop or anywhere. And if you're a Google. Dr user, then it's there with all of your other things.

I'm [00:03:00] a Google drive, user. Everything in the world that I ever want is right in my Google drive. So. I like things to be in one place. It makes it more organized and streamlined and easier to do, because we know that we don't do the things that are hard to remember or hard to make ourselves do. So I wanted to make mental health maintenance as easy as it could be. Now, I think I've talked about a few of these things. In another episode, but I looked up, why is it important to have a maintenance schedule?

And I was writing it. I was looking for information, just maintenance in your house, maintenance in your car, maintenance of yourself. Like why is that? What are, what are the benefits of doing that? And so one of them was increased equipment reliability now. We can think about our brain as our. Th our most important. Asset our most important equipment that [00:04:00] we own. Is our brain and how our mental health is working.

And so we're going to have increased mental ability if we are in reliability, if we are paying attention to it, because if we are maintaining our mental health in a positive way, We're going to be able to do pretty much anything we want to do, and we're going to have amazing relationships and we're going to be great at our job and we're going to feel good every day.

So we want to go to our job and we want to go to school and we want to do all the things. Also reduce cost. And we talked about that. And why it's important to maintain yourself, because if you you're going to have to pay something to go to the doctor or to go to the dentist or to have a life coach. But that minimal fee, it is going to be minimal instead of, oh my gosh.

You've let everything go. And now you have to go to a hospital and stay there for a while or you have to be. [00:05:00] On medications, your whole life, because you didn't take care of your mental health. If you do it. On a maintenance schedule, some on your own and some with some support. That money that you may be put out at the beginning while you're trying to figure it out, you can stop doing it.

And then you have that knowledge and that ability to do that forever. You don't have to keep paying for it. It's something that you just do for the support. Like when you get a tutor to teach you a certain way to do math, Sometimes you just have to go for a short time to learn that one thing that was hard.

And then you don't have to keep going to it because you move on and you take that knowledge and move on to the next step. Or people who get tutored for a act or sat tests or other kinds of tests. Then they just need it for that time. And then they already have that knowledge and they don't have to keep having the tutoring over and over him. Or if you have a coach in sports, [00:06:00] Sometimes you're coached through certain things or certain skills, and then you learn them and you're great at them.

And you don't have to keep being coached on that. So, It's just something to think about. Then extended equipment life. So extend your own life. If you take care of your mental health, your physical life will last longer and it will be more fun. You will be enjoying all the things that you're doing, and it really does lengthen your actual physical life when you you're mentally well, and you feel good. Because think about the people that are not mentally well and do not take care of their mental health.

They usually die early either because they. They actually get physically sick more often. But they might die by suicide because their mental health has gotten so poor that they just can't. Imagine, living on any longer.

So also [00:07:00] improved. Reduced environmental impact. And I thought that was so cause like with your car, if you don't take care of it, it starts having like toxins. Coming out and hurting the environment and our, our energy bills go up and we use too much energy because our car isn't working right. Or houses aren't working right. Well, the same thing would happen with us.

We get so exhausted when we have poor mental health. And if we are taking care of our mental health, we will have so much more. Energy to do amazing things, and we'll be also producing positive things and positive energy out into the world. You know, a lot of the, I keep hearing about mass shootings. They just keep happening over and over again.

And every time it's because of someone's mental health has not been taken care of. Weather. It's things that they are not taking medication for, or they never [00:08:00] originally went to find out what it was to begin with. And maybe their family. Didn't know, or, or they tried to get them help. But then as an adult, they didn't want to take care of their mental health anymore.

And we can't make adults take care of their mental health. So then they don't. And if you are taking care of your mental health as a teenager, then you will just know how to do it for those adult times. And if everyone was taking care and maintaining their mental health, We wouldn't, I wouldn't say we would never have school shootings or, or mass shootings, but those things would become so rare. Because people were maintaining their own mental health suicides would become rare.

If, if non-existent. And I'm pretty sure I talked about this before, but obesity. And drug related. Alcoholism and drug problems. So many of those things would be reduced or eliminated if people maintained [00:09:00] their mental health. So I just think. This is the most important topic I could talk to. Any of you about. And I love that I've created an easy way for you to do it. So you just follow the Google sheet.

And again, I created a video that will be linked in the very first page of it. So you can watch like how to use it. But it's really just a template for you to do anything with, you can create it. You can just follow the guidelines that I've already put in there. And I've also put resources in there of like questions, videos you can watch. An app that I think is amazing for you to track your, how you're feeling I've been using it.

And it has like amazing things on it. I think originally you had to pay for it, but I think it's now free. So that's even better. And this maintenance schedule is free. So just go in there and get it. And when you schedule things on your calendar, you're [00:10:00] so much more likely to do them. And this helps you to schedule it.

It gives you a checkoff. So you can say I'm done with it, or I've scheduled it for those people that like to check things off. Cause I'm one of those people. But again, if you don't like that, part of it just don't do that part of it. Or if you don't like how something is labeled or you don't like a certain tablets there just create a new tab.

I just want it to be easy for you to maintain your mental health because it will solve. Every problem that our country is having right now. And I would love to be. Somebody that was a catalyst. Or a person that started a movement that got people to pay attention to their mental health. And if you're somebody with your, if your, if anxiety is something. That is a problem.

This is a way for you to figure out all the things you can do about it. Because when you maintain your mental health, you aren't as anxious or stressed out because you feel good. So. Go in, get this [00:11:00] maintenance schedule. Your life will change almost immediately when you start doing it. But especially if you go a whole year of maintaining your mental health. I can't even imagine what the world will be like if everyone was doing that.

So send me a message. Tell me how it's going for you. Send me any questions you have that will help me to know what other episodes I might need to do to help people to continue to maintain their mental health. And I'll talk to you soon.
